What You Need to Know About Office Etiquette

What You Need to Know About Office Etiquette via Pixabay Be On Time Nobody likes waiting for someone to start a meeting. Nobody likes walking in late to a meeting after it has already started. So, to avoid both of these situations, try your best to be on time to meetings and into the office in the morning. Time management can be difficult for some people, especially during an especially busy day. Set reminders on your phone before meetings so you don’t lose track of time and can prepare to leave. If you are in charge of scheduling meetings, make sure you have enough time to travel from meeting to meeting instead of scheduling them back-to-back. Punctuality is one of the biggest forms of office etiquette. Be Conscious While on the Phone If you work in an open office or with cubicles, be conscious of how loudly you are speaking on the phone. While you may be on a work call, someone near you may be trying to concentrate on a project distracted by your conversation. Keep your voice at a lower level so you don’t disturb any of your coworkers. When it comes to personal calls, keep them short or take them away from your desk. Go into the break room, lounge or lobby, or outside if you really have to talk. You don’t want to lay your personal life out for everyone in the office. Clean Up After Yourself This one may seem pretty obvious, but how many times have you seen a dirty dish in the communal kitchen or trash in the bathroom? In order to keep a clean workplace, you have to clean up after yourself. If you heat up your lunch in the microwave and it splatters, make sure to wipe it down with a paper towel so it’s clean for the next person. Throw out your trash instead of leaving it on the break room tables or on the floor in the bathroom. Your coworkers will definitely appreciate it. via Pixabay Pay Attention in Meetings Remember back in high school when you weren’t allowed to use your cell phone during class because it was rude and you should pay attention to what your teacher had to say? Take that mentality into office meetings as well. Part of office etiquette is paying attention during a meeting and actively listening to whoever is leading the meeting. That means taking notes, asking questions, and making eye contact. If you have to answer a text or call that is work-related, quietly excuse yourself from the meeting. Stay Home When You’re Sick It may be tempting to go into the office if you are sick because you have deadlines, important meetings, or don’t feel like using one of your sick days. However, keep in mind that your healthy coworkers do not want to catch your sickness. When you go into the office when you are sick, you put everyone at risk. The best thing to do is to stay home and rest so you can get better as quickly as possible. That way you can go back to work and catch up on missed work. Use Punctuation in Your Emails The emotion and meaning of texts and emails can be hard to gauge without proper punctuation. While it may seem childish to use exclamation points at the end of sentences, it may be necessary when sending emails. “Nice job on this project! Thanks, Michelle,” sounds a lot better than “Thanks. -Michelle.” Don’t be afraid to be friendly towards your coworkers. Don’t overdo it on the emojis or exclamation points though. Be Respectful The number one rule of office etiquette is to always be respectful of everyone you work with. While you may not necessarily like everyone you work with, you still have to be respectful and kind. That means holding the door open for someone, greeting your coworkers, and working together as a team when necessary. When you show others respect, you will receive respect. Learn Office Etiquette If you are unsure of what office etiquette means, start with these simple tasks. Overall, just be respectful and considerate of your coworkers. You all share the same space, so why not make an effort to keep it clean and comfortable for everyone? With these office etiquette practices, you’ll be extremely pleasant to work with in the office.

5 Principles to Help Your Child Excel - ALOHA Mind Math

5 Principles to Help Your Child Excel We thought we would share the following 5 essential education and life principles to help your children excel as they prepare to go back to school. Teach Your Child to Reach for the StarsHave them write down their hopes and visions each year. Throughout life we have the tendency to let go of our lofty goals because of fear. Lead them to talk openly about their hopes and dreams. Be supportive. Encourage your child to not give up, especially during challenging times and, especially when obstacles get in the way. Support your children to dream big. Parents can create a book of their vision. Ask them to draw what they want to be, write a brief paragraph explaining what they would do, and what it would mean to them to achieve their dream. By them putting their ambitions on paper helps the child visualize their aspiration. Allow and Teach Your Child to be Inquisitive-Inventors like Ben Franklin and Steve Jobs were innately curious about why and how things worked. Provide your kids opportunities to think outside the box. Take them to a Science and Industry Museum or a Children’s Discovery Museum. Provide options where active learning can take place up close in different environments. Teach Your Child the Importance of Education-Obtaining a college education and buying a house are some of the American dreams. Attending college may seem like a lifetime away to children or an un-achievable dream, but once achieved no one can take away your diploma or degree. Children need to be self-assured in who they are to ask probing questions. In order for a child to be inquisitive it is also important he or she feels comfortable asking and answering questions â€" either in class, after class, after school, and at home. Teach Your Child to Accept Mistakes and Learn from Them They are starting a new school year which means new teachers, friends, and new concepts. They may meet many challenges in the school year. Teach your child to allow themselves to accept, but learn from their mistakes. The next step is to instruct them on how to solve their own problems. Teach Your Child to Realize They Can Do Anything They Put Their Mind to Do The mind is miraculous. Parents usually see the capabilities and talents of their children long before they do. This is likely why some children may by surprised of their own successes when others knew they had the ability all along. Give them nudges of encouragement. Provide constructive feedback. Most of all consistently tell your children they can be whatever they want to be and achieve whatever they want. How did Howard Schultz, founder of Starbucks, who grew up in the projects in Brooklyn achieve success and build a household name? In his own words, I wasnt afraid to create a company that no one initially believed in… Dream more than others think practical. Expect more than others think possible. Care more than others think wise. What are your dreams? What else should we add to this list that you teach your children?

They are the perfect answer to address questions and queries and offer advice and tips for parents of students with special needs.Writing an online tutoring blog requires some skill, however. It is important to make sure that the posts are informative and well-written so as to help parents get the most out of them. Many parents have found that using word processing software and professional writing skills, coupled with good grammar and style can help increase their reading level and help boost their confidence.Writing an online tutoring blog may require the creation of several different posts so as to allow parents to view them all in one location. This means that they need to choose the best way to organize them, the most appropriate way to create new content and encourage the parents to participate by adding comments and posting on the blog, among other things.Parents will also want to offer useful information and parenting activities to parents as well as the children that will be included in the blog. Most parents prefer to post personal information about themselves and others while others post their parenting information. One should remember that parents with special needs will be more inclined to read blogs and perhaps ask questions if they feel they have been provided with enough helpful information. The success of an online tutoring blog depends on the site creator and how well he or she has prepared the content. Writing and editing a blog is similar to writing a real book. If the blog author is not knowledgeable and good at writing, it may not be successful for the reason that the content may not be sufficiently informative. To insure quality content, one should seek the help of someone who is experienced in blog writing and editing. Some bloggers offer editing services through pay per post and others allow individuals to submit their own content. Most blog site owners to post content in articles format, which makes it easier for readers to navigate and find what they need.Blogs that have the ability to track comments from the parent's computer, and allow visitors to vote for or against the blog post, are a very effective way to grow a forum for parents and students to communicate. Parents may also use the blog to ask questions that they may have about teaching children with special needs. A blog has become an easy and inexpensive way to let parents share their experiences and put forth positive comments about what has worked and what has not worked.

Organic Chemistry Articles - What Is It All About?

Organic Chemistry Articles - What Is It All About? In the field of chemistry, it is very common to see organic chemistry articles in any website of any person. This article is not meant to make you very happy, but we want to point out that it's more important than what kind of organic chemistry articles you'll read on the internet, but more in the fact about what you will read.It is a known fact that many people have been having troubles in finding the best chemistry articles to read, because the way most of them look. You may say, 'well, that's just how they are'. Yes, it is true, but not everyone will be able to get a good one, even when they've researched hard enough.Although the major search engines like Google and Yahoo search out all the articles on the internet, there are still so many people who do not know where to find the best ones. Do you know what it means to be first on the first page? First, it means that there is no way to go past, and the more number of searches you m ake, the more chances you get.So how can you do it? And I would say that the best way is by finding and contacting those people who are first on the web pages of these search engines, then ask them if they would write some articles for you.The reason why they are so popular is because of the fact that they always provide high quality articles, that are written according to the topic you are searching on, with so much knowledge and experience behind it. This is very useful for every individual who wants to learn more about organic chemistry. If you are living in the United States, Canada or the UK, these are countries that have English as the main language, so your chances to communicate with them will also be higher. On the other hand, if you are living in a country like Australia, New Zealand, or Japan, you need to use Japanese or Korean translations, so you need to check first if you can translate.Just before you start writing the articles, it's best if you will try to write your a rticles using a calculator. After you're done with the article, post it online and get as many views as possible.

Why Take Ballet Lessons

Why Take Ballet Lessons 5 Good Reasons to Start Learning Ballet ChaptersBecome more Graceful with BalletBecome More Flexible through Ballet DancingImprove Your Self-Discipline with BalletImprove Your Memory by Memorising Choreography and Ballet RoutinesLose Weight with BalletAchieve Your Goals with Private Ballet TutorialsWe often say that no matter what style of dance you want to learn (contemporary dance, Zumba, jazz, African dance, Cuban salsa, Bachata, Argentine tango, flamenco, rumba, Bollywood, etc.), you should start with a bit of ballet. While this isn’t obligatory, the physical and mental benefits (as well as the artistry) of ballet can be transferred to other styles of dance. Whether you do classical ballet, contemporary ballet, a mix of both, ballet dance classes for fun, or an intensive ballet workshop at a ballet school or ballet academy, you'll quickly start seeing the benefits ballet training: grace, elegance, flexibility, discipline, etc.Ballet basically teaches you how to fly without actually flying. It can do wonders for both y our body and mind and seems to help you defy gravity.Nowadays, you’re not expected to break your back studying ballet (though it's still challenging). You have to do your stretches and work on your coordination and balance. Are you still wondering why you should learn ballet? Here’s Superprof’s reasons why you should study ballet.you can recognise dancers by the way they position their head. Then there’s their arms. Ballet dancers have tones arms and shoulders. Through regular exercise, ballet dancers have a different posture to those who don’t dance.Become More Flexible through Ballet DancingFrom your very first ballet tutorial, your tutor will have you working on your flexibility. While it might be intimidating to see other dancers who are more flexible than you, you’ll get there soon enough. It doesn’t matter how old you are.Flexibility is an important part of ballet but it’s also useful in other styles of dance like modern dance, dance fitness, hip hop dance, Orient al dancing, and the waltz.Make sure you wear clothes that won't hinder your movement like leotards, leggings, tights, and ballet shoes.Bit by bit, you'll get stronger and more flexible. (Source: indy0333)Warming up is an important part of ballet tutorials since you don’t want to risk hurting yourself. Bit by bit, you’ll feel yourself getting more and more flexible. You’ll get stronger and you’ll be able to lift your leg up higher. While flexibility can take a long time, it doesn’t mean forcing your body into uncomfortable positions. That doesn’t mean that working on your flexibility is easy, it just means that you shouldn’t do yourself an injury.Your body won’t always feel the same each day. Some days you’ll be able to touch your toes without any problems and other days you won’t even be able to reach your ankles. You have to listen to your body and never go beyond what you’re capable of doing so that you don’t pull a muscle.Ballet is still a beautiful art for m even if the dancer can’t put their foot behind their head. On the other hand, working on your flexibility regardless of your age is a great way to avoid tendinitis, arthritis, and rheumatism since you have to extensively warm up and stretch before each session. (Source: sobima)If you want to learn to dance, you have to remain disciplined. You need to focus 100% on your lessons in order to master everything from the 5 foot positions to the perfect pirouette. You’ll see problems arise if you stop paying attention during your lessons. However, if you put your all into each lesson, you’ll somehow feel exhausted and rejuvenated at the same time.Improve Your Memory by Memorising Choreography and Ballet RoutinesDuring dance workshops, private class es, or group classes, there’s a high probability that you’ll learn a dance routine.Even if you’re new to dancing, you’ll have to learn how to memorise dance steps along to music. If you’ve already studied another style of dance, be it ballroom dancing, tap, or Latin dance, you'll probably already have a good idea of how to do it.This is why you need to be disciplined and concentrate fully during your lessons. Otherwise, you won’t remember half the stuff you’re supposed to.The difficulty is still remembering the routine when your next class rolls around. It’s recommended that you regularly revise your routine so you don’t forget it. Don’t wait until the night before your next class, you’ve probably already forgotten some of the most important aspects of it.Music is an important part of dancing. However, don’t worry if you’re not an expert in it, you’ll learn. You’ll learn how to move in time with the music and count along with the beat.Don’t forget to listen to your teacher’s feedback so you can improve for your next lesson. Even a prima ballerina assoluta couldn't learn their whole part in Swan Lake or Giselle in just one lesson! Don’t think of ballet as just a physical activity, it’s also a mental and artistic activity so make sure you warm up your brain, too!You won't learn all the intricacies of ballet in a day. (Source: pixel2013)Lose Weight with BalletWhile you won’t need to lose as much weight as some professional dancers, ballet can help you lose weight. However, in some cases, you’ll gain weight since you’ll become more toned. You’ll see this most noticeably in your legs. After a few sessions of pliés, you’ll start to see the muscles in your legs start to become firmer. However, ballet won’t bulk up your muscles like other sports do.Forget pilates! With ballet, the end result is slender and toned legs, defined thighs, and powerful heels. The choreographed routines in ballet are great for conditioning yo ur body and each time you participate in a ballet class, you'll be one step closer to achieving your fitness goals.Your rear will become more curved and your arms will become more defined. Ballet is the perfect sport for the feminine form.Achieve Your Goals with Private Ballet TutorialsIf you've got an audition or rehearsal coming up, private ballet tutorials are a great way to focus on your goals as a ballet dancer. A tutor (who can act both as your ballet coach and artistic director) can help you work on a particular ballet technique (pointe technique, for example), choreograph a routine, or just give you the confidence you need before the big day.If your goals aren't as big as that, don't worry, beginners can be taught the absolute basics of ballet before you move onto intermediate dance training further down the line. You don't need to be auditioning for the Nutcracker with the Royal Ballet or part of a dance company to work with a dance instructor. Some people are too shy to do a dult classes in groups or just don't aspire to become the next George Balanchine (he founded the New York City Ballet and was a famous choreographer known as the father of American ballet). Working one-on-one with a private tutor is also beneficial when the class schedule at your local dance school doesn't work for you. When it comes to your dance education, you need to choose what works for you and while drop-ins are useful for those with irregular schedules, getting private tuition from the comfort of your own home can be even better (given you've got the space!).Just make sure to pick the right tutor for you. If you've never danced a day in your life, you probably don't need to pay a premium for an experienced choreographer from a national ballet company. However, if you're an experienced dancer, absolute beginner adult ballet classes won't be right for you.Do your research before you put on your pointe shoes and make sure to take advantage of the fact that many ballet tutors offe r free tuition for the first hour of instruction. In short:Ballet can promote grace, elegance, and femininity. You can use ballet to work on your flexibility, which will improve gradually, without pushing yourself too hard. You don’t have to be able to do the splits to start learning ballet and flexibility will help you avoid injuries.Discipline is an essential part of ballet dancing. It can also help children calm down and focus.Ballet is also an intellectual discipline. You have to memorise the routines your teacher gives you to learn.Ballet is one of the best sports for shaping your body as it firms muscles and the skin.In addition to attending a dance class in one of the dance studios around the country, you can also get a private tutor to introduce you to all the benefits of ballet.Read our article about the history of ballet!

(Source: Wokandapix)You might be bored with your job. “Boreout”, or “boredom burnout syndrome”, is becoming increasingly common in UK workplaces. Due to this situation, many people are deciding to go return their studies to gain new skills and change their career. With so many undergraduate degrees and postgraduate courses available, there's never been a better time to enjoy university life or some more education. Whether you go back to university, night classes, or online classes, it’s a good time to improve your IT skills, foreign language skills, or build your CV and find a new job. Some people might also want more direction in their life. Changing careers is sometimes the only option you have to feel better at work. This is why many people go back to school, get new A Levels, study a degree, or professional training for adults. Retraining or changing careers might be part of your plans for your family’s financial security. You just want to go back to school for fun.Are you interested in history, coding, or learning Italian? There are courses for adults where you can feed your passions and skills that could be useful during your professional life. This is known as “continuing education” and is generally used for all educa tion and training aimed at those who’ve already left school or otherwise finished their education. In other words, it refers to anyone who’s finished their studies, joined the workforce, and then decided to go back and study further. Mature students can study whatever they want! (Source: Free-Photos)Continuing education is quite present at university. Like education for those who are still in education and have never left, mature students can study an undergraduate degree, a postgraduate degree, and PhD, or even diplomas and school qualifications like GCSEs and A Levels. The latter is useful for catching up if you’re planning on going to university later on.There are also access courses for those that don't meet the prerequisites for certain undergraduate courses and most types of continuing education can be applied to in the same way as younger students, which is usually through UCAS.University isn’t the only way to go back to school or study further.  Those who want to go back to school or study more can also learn online. Thanks to the internet, there are plenty of online services that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This is particularly true for MOOCs (massive open online courses). These online courses are often offered by big universities. This is your first step to lifelong learning. There are also other organisations offering distance learning.Be wary of certain private organisations as they may be an attractive option, they can also be more expensive than public organisations. Finally, think about what these qualifications and experience are worth. Your professional experience and qualifications may help you in your career. You may even be able to ask for more money. How Much Does It Cost to Go Back to School?Studying costs money. In addition to paying for the courses themselves, you also may need to take into account how much money you’ll lose by not working or by working less. In addition to the cost of education, you'll also need to factor in your losses if you decide to stop working. (Source: PublicDomainPictures)So how much does it cost to go back to school? The cost of lifelong learning can vary a lot. In some cases, a training course over a few days can cost as much as training throughout an entire year. You’ll need to think about all the costs involved with tuition but also what you’ll need to pay for in terms of materials. While tuition fees are the same for all undergraduates, regardless of their age, some UK universities have scholarships and bursaries available for those deciding to return to full or part-time study. In addition to all of that, you may also need to find a way to earn money during your course. While some may be relishing the opportunity to relive the student experience, other adult learners might have concerns such as childcare and a mortgage to pay.You might consider working part-time or doing night classes and there are also op tions for those wanting to go back to school. There’s also funding for mature students, for example. Mature students have the option to apply for student finance. This can be useful if you’re looking at ways to pay for your studies. University courses can be expensive and it feels even more expensive when you may have to give up some of your income to do it. You might be able to take a sabbatical from work and return to the same position once you’ve finished your studies. If you’re not working, financial support will be even more important so make sure you look at any financial support you’re entitled too.Find out more about being a mature student. How Can You Choose What to Study?Going back to school is a big opportunity. Whether it’s for changing careers, finding work, or getting ahead in your current career, going back to school and lifelong learning is a way to change how you work. But you will need to choose the right courses! If you're done with your current career, you can always opt for something more interesting and pursue a passion of yours. (Source: TiBine)Baking, engineering, accounting, IT, etc., no matter what you’re interested in, the first thing to do is think about your career.  Think about why you want to study more and what you plan to get out of it.If you want to change careers, research what you want to do. If you want to gain more experience, think about internships. You need to keep this in mind when putting together your applications.  Consider doing a skills appraisal to work out what you’re good at and what you can do with those skills. While this won’t make the decision for you, it will make things a little clearer. To choose a course, you might want to talk to former students. You might want to think about what they’re doing, what they’re working on, and how it helped their professional careers. You’ll have a better idea of what you can do with your qualifications.Addition ally, you might want to think about looking at the entry requirements, picking up a prospectus, or attending open days. An open day is an opportunity for the university to say “check out our courses and campus!”. You can see the students union and other student services. While each UK university costs more or less the same to attend, not every degree course is the same and neither are the lecturers. This could be your chance to see what it's all about. You might also want to talk about this with those close to you to hear what they think about your plans to study more. Make sure that they’re supportive of your choice to study and will help you make the right decision. Whether you’re attending classes or have opted for distance learning, you need support.Whatever you choose to do, it’s your decision at the end of the day. Think about what you want. This will help you stay motivated throughout your studies.

You can choose this type of stitch on a sewing machine and you’re ready to go.To do it by hand, you’ll need the following equipment:Thread (the same colour as the fabric)A sewing needleScissorsPinsYour first job is to thread the needle. The size of the needle will depend on what you’re sewing. For jeans, you can take a medium sized needle.Regular practice will help a lot! (Source: Gadini)To thread the needle, slightly wet the end of the thread so that the frayed ends stay together. Slide the needle to the middle of the thread and make a knot with the two ends of the thread. This will allow you to thicken the thread by doubling it. You can also use embroidery thread as it’s more resistant than regular thread. Once again, this will depend on your project.Find the best sewing classes London on Superprof.Once your needle and thread are ready, you’ll need to get your fabric. You can start by practising on offcuts or scraps in order to understand an overlock stitch before you try it out on your next project.Choose two pieces of fabric and place them right sides together. Make sure that the two pieces are lined up. Use pins to hold them in pla ce before sewing and make sure that the pins are perpendicular to the direction of the seam.Start by passing the needle through the outer piece of fabric without piercing the other piece. You need to pass the needle through the right side of the piece. By sewing between the two pieces of fabric, the knot you made earlier will be hidden in the stitching. The seam allowances, the space between the seam and the edge of the fabric, needs to 3 or 4mm.Once the needle’s back out, sew back along the stitching and sew the two pieces together until you get back to the first hole. Once you get to this stage, you need to loop the thread around the seam allowance. This is your first overlock stitch.Find amazing sewing classes Glasgow thanks to Superprof.Ensure that the thread is tight enough to pull the two inlays together and the fabric isn’t creased. You then need to do the second overlock stitch. The second overlock stitch is really the first complete overlock stitch since the first starts at the centre of the two pieces. To do your second overlock stitch and learn to sew correctly, you need to start again by going around the edge of the pieces of fabric and stitch the two pieces together to get back onto the right side. The two stitches need to be slightly spaced out but close enough so that the stitching remains solid. This could be between 3mm or 4mm.Once the second stitch has been done, you need to ensure the spacing remains the same for the rest of the seam.  Do this along the stitching and finish with a half stitch. This allows you to hide the end of the stitching. Once you’ve finished, you just need to pull the needle through and cut your thread. Finally, don’t hesitate to marvel at your own work.  To make the stitching solid, you can also do a double overlock stitch. In this case, you just need to do the same again but in the opposite direction. The stitching will look like little crosses on the fabric. This can take more time but it’ll make your stitchin g last longer. It’ll last even longer if you use embroidery thread.Make sure you learn how to do a felled seam, too!Overlock Stitches with a Sewing MachineDoing an overlock stitch with a sewing machine is really easy since most sewing machines have an overlock stitch setting.A sewing machine will help a lot! Since you're getting tailored tuiti on, you can expect to pay a premium for it. However, these types of tutorials are also the most cost-effective since every minute of the tutor's time is used helping you, unlike in a group class or a workshop.Online tutorials are similar except that your tutor isn't  physically there. Thanks to the internet, webcams, and programmes like Skype, students can learn from tutors all over the world. Since these tutors don't have to travel, they can charge less for the tutorial. However, these types of tutorials tend to be better for theoretical subjects rather than practical subjects like sewing.Group tutorials are the cheapest per student per hour since the cost of the tutor's time is shared amongst all the students attending the tutorial. Unfortunately, you won't get as much one-on-one time with your tutor but if you and a group of friends all want to learn how to sew, this is probably one of the best ways to do it.
